"For I was hungry
and you fed me...
I was sick and
you looked after me
I was in prison
and you visited me."

Matthew 25:36

our shared humanity.”

               How to Support this Outreach

Our volunteers travel to high-security and often remote
jails, prisons, mental health and juvenile centers many
times every week. There are numerous expenses. Your
donation will "help us help inmates to help themselves"
in preserving their sanity and rebuilding their lives.
Choose a one-time donation or a monthly pledge:

Yoga And Mindfulness Outreach is a 501c nonprofit, tax-
    deductible organization.
You can also donate yoga mats, books, printing,
    administrative (call first 305 926-3578).

          Volunteer Teaching

Incarcerated students often display a rare level of
dedication. And that is what is required from of our
teachers too -- commitment, motivation and sacrifice.
Our teachers must have a personal meditation practice,
as well as training in one or another area like yoga,
qigong, physical training, reiki, counseling, meditation,
mindfulness, etc. Additional training we provide. You
can participate as per your availability. The rewards are
great! You can see and feel the transformations-- in
    others and in yourself.

     A typical volunteer reaction:

"Teaching in prison has brought me into contact
with extraordinary individuals who show a degree
of compassion, intelligence, patience, kindness, and
good humor in the face of adversity that frequently
puts me to shame, but more often inspires me to
    practice more seriously myself!"
